It has now become an annual elf trip to the Oak Centre for Children, at the Royal Marsden in Sutton. With the support of the wonderful John at Buckland Media (, and our regular photographer Estelle Thompson (, Anita and Natasha made the trip to Sutton.

John had a much earlier start, making a Santa-Stop at Bluewater, where he collected roughly 600 gifts from The Giving Tree, supported by Jo and the team at Heart FM.

We spent the longest ever time on the wards this year, supported by the wonderful Tammy (The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity) and Lyn (CLIC Sargent), along with many other staff and Doctors/Nurses. We arrived at about 11.30am, and we stayed for roughly SIX hours.

We met some incredible families and young people, including several families who received grants from MSS this year; this was particularly special as it enabled families to meet Anita, having spoken to her on the phone so many times and receiving vital emotional and financial support.

This trip is tough, but the most rewarding thing we get to do. This year was made extra-special by getting to visit many patients on the Teenage Cancer Trust ward; due to their age they are often left out, but not by our measures! They were just as spoilt as the younger children downstairs.

We were also given extremely kind donations by local friends and supporters, allowing us to provide all 25 families a Marks and Spencer hamper on Christmas Day (provided by the incredible team at OSB), Tesco and Amazon vouchers, and essential 'starter' hampers filled with cosmetics, for those families just arriving and facing the trauma of a childhood cancer diagnosis.

Thank you so much to everyone for the support offered to enable this trip to happen, and for allowing us to spread so much Christmas magic and cheer for so many families xxxxx
